Silka Gonzalez is the president and founder of Enterprise Risk Management. She founded the information security consulting company in 1998 with a handful of expert information security and risk assessment consultants to provide high caliber and cost-effective information security, information systems risk analysis, and risk assessment services to a wide variety of local, national, and international organizations.

Experience

Silka has more than 20 years of experience in IT security and IT auditing and holds expertise in best practices in business continuity planning. Prior to founding ERM, she was a consultant with Price Waterhouse, where she was a manager of IT and business services. In addition, she managed information systems audit and security functions at large corporations. Silka was Manager of Information Systems Auditing for Diageo PLC and Manager of Information Systems Security for American Bankers Insurance Group, which is now known as Assurant Solutions.

Certifications and Memberships

Silka holds numerous professional certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) and Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor (QSA).

She currently serves on the boards of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) and ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting). Silka is also a member of Florida International University’s Dean Council and the past president of the Miami chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Education

Silka holds bachelors degrees in both Computer Information Systems and Accounting from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She also holds a Master’s degree in Accounting Information Systems from Florida International University in Miami.

Silka is an assistant professor of an IT Audit graduate course at Florida International University. She is also a coach for the University of Miami Entrepreneur Program.
